Louisiana-Monroe holds off W. Kentucky 21-18

MONROE, La. (AP) Rodney Lovett ran for a 3-yard touchdown with 5:09 to play, propelling Louisiana-Monroe to a 21-18 win over Western Kentucky on Saturday.

Trailing 12-7 at halftime, Frank Goodin, who finished with a career-high 169 rushing yards, put the Warhawks (6-4, 5-1 Sun Belt Conference) ahead 14-12 early in the fourth with a 48-yard TD run. But Brandon Smith scored on a 1-yard TD run, putting the Hilltoppers on top 18-14.
