AKRON, Ohio (AP) Patrick Nicely threw two touchdown passes to Jeremy LaFrance and Akron defeated Kent State 28-20 on Saturday.
LaFrance caught a 59-yard pass from Nicely to give the Zips (2-7, 1-4 Mid-American Conference) a 14-3 lead early in the second quarter. Akron won for the ninth time in 10 meetings with the Golden Flashes (5-5, 4-2).
Nicely and LaFrance connected again for a 6-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter to give Akron a 28-13 lead, en route to snapping a three-game winning streak for Kent State. (MORE)
